HMD Joins Veterinary Professionals to Talk Vision, Value, & the Path to Ownership
We had an incredible evening at the North Harbor Club on Lake Norman! It was great connecting with so many veterinary professionals and hearing real, honest conversations about practice ownership, growth, and long-term planning.
We are grateful for the insights shared by our panel and attendees, including Roger Layman, Carly Watson Tobler, Rusty Russell, CFP®, CWS®, CKA®, CEPA®, Chris Greene, and Michael Burger.
A few key themes really stood out: corporate medicine may be growing, but many veterinarians still aspire to ownership, and long-term planning is essential to making that dream successful. Early conversations with a financial planner, regular management appraisals every few years, and a true practice valuation (beyond topline revenue) all play a crucial role in identifying opportunities, protecting profitability, and maximizing value when it’s time to transition or exit.
It was a privilege for HMD to be part of this discussion, and we’re looking forward to continuing the conversation.
