We’re excited to share the completion of one of our newest projects, Lucci Blue’s Social Cafe & Deli in Fuquay-Varina! This beautiful new space brings a warm European-inspired atmosphere to the community, complete with rich textures, inviting lighting, and thoughtful details that make it feel instantly welcoming.

From the early vision to the final finishing touches, it was an honor to help bring Lucci Blue’s concept to life. Their passion for creating a place where people can gather over great food, coffee, wine, and conversation is evident in every corner of the space.

If you’re in the area, stop by 209 Fayetteville Street to enjoy handcrafted espresso, curated wines, fresh deli offerings, and a cozy neighborhood vibe. It’s a wonderful addition to downtown Fuquay-Varina, and we’re proud to have played a part in making it a reality.

We had an incredible evening at the North Harbor Club on Lake Norman! It was great connecting with so many veterinary professionals and hearing real, honest conversations about practice ownership, growth, and long-term planning.

We are grateful for the insights shared by our panel and attendees, including Roger Layman, Carly Watson Tobler, Rusty Russell, CFP®, CWS®, CKA®, CEPA®, Chris Greene, and Michael Burger.

A few key themes really stood out: corporate medicine may be growing, but many veterinarians still aspire to ownership, and long-term planning is essential to making that dream successful. Early conversations with a financial planner, regular management appraisals every few years, and a true practice valuation (beyond topline revenue) all play a crucial role in identifying opportunities, protecting profitability, and maximizing value when it’s time to transition or exit.

It was a privilege for HMD to be part of this discussion, and we’re looking forward to continuing the conversation.

Happy Thanksgiving from the team at HMD! May your weekend be full of gratitude and good food!

This past Monday, we had the privilege of supporting the 2025 Catfish Classic at Prestonwood Country Club as an event sponsor.

The Catfish Classic brings our community together to raise awareness and funds in the fight to find a cause and cure for ALS. We were honored to stand alongside so many individuals and organizations committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected.

HMD’s owner, Kenneth Dickinson, had the opportunity to play alongside Chris Rurkowski of Rurkowski Land Planning, Russell Miller of Club Car, and Matt Diehl of Pine Glo Products—a great group for a great cause.

At HMD, we believe in building strong foundations, not only in the projects we construct across the Triangle, but in the communities we’re part of. Supporting the Catfish Classic is one way we continue to live out that commitment.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, fellow sponsors, and participants for a day filled with purpose, connection, and hope. We’re grateful to take part in efforts that move us closer to a world without ALS.

We’re pleased to announce that HMD will be attending the 2025 North Carolina Veterinary Conference (NCVC) — November 7-9 at the Raleigh Convention Center.

Why this matters to us:

As a full-service commercial general contractor and developer based in the Triangle, HMD is committed to serving clients across a diversity of industries, including veterinary practices, animal health facilities, and specialized care spaces. Attending NCVC underscores our commitment to understanding the unique operational, regulatory, and design requirements of veterinary spaces so we can build environments that truly support our clients’ missions.

What we’ll be doing at the conference:

· Connecting with veterinarians, practice managers, and technicians to learn first-hand about their facility needs.

· Exploring how our process (from budgeting and land/space selection through pre-construction, construction, and completion) adapts to veterinary use-cases.

· Sharing insights on how a well-engineered space can elevate patient care, operational efficiency, and long-term value.

If you’re attending NCVC, let’s connect!

This past weekend, our HMD team was proud to take part in the 37th Annual Walk for Hope alongside Team Taylor’s from Taylor’s Wine Shop!

With 20 participants from HMD and nearly 80 walkers total, Team Taylor’s raised just under $29,604, earning 2nd place overall for the most funds raised!

It was an incredible day, despite the rain, with over 2,500 participants registered to walk in support of mental health research and awareness. Even more inspiring — the Walk for Hope exceeded its $1 million goal, raising $1,029,000 through sponsorships, walker fundraising, and donations!

We’re so grateful to be part of such a passionate community working together to make a difference. A huge thank you to Taylor’s Wine Shop for inviting us to join your amazing team — we’re already looking forward to next year!
